CUSTOM BUILD YOUR OWN PC!

The Case is the box that holds all of your components that make up your computer, the bigger, the better.

The Motherboard is what everything else hooks in to.

The CPU is the brain of your computer, it runs all of the programs on your computer, the higher mhz the faster computer.

The CPU fan is what cools the CPU, I only carry ball-bearing fans, they last alot longer than sleeve bearing fans.

The RAM is how much memory can be taken from the Hard Drive to run programs at once, the more RAM, the faster the computer and more applications that can be run at a time.

The Hard Drive is the amount of space you have to put your programs on.

The CD-ROM drive is ofcourse what you use to run CD's, whether to play games, listen to music CD's, or various other programs. The higher x (speed), the faster the cd-rom reads the information from the CD.

The Disk Drive is ofcourse what you use to read/write from the 1.44 floppy disks. But you can get better disk drives.

The Video Card is what you use to view the pictures on your monitor, the more megabytes the better pictures and more pictures you can have on the screen at once, basically a higher quality video output, the bigger, the better for big 3d games.

The Sound Card is obviously what is used to output sound through your speakers. The higher bit the better quality sound.

The speakers ofcourse play the sound from your sound card. Computer speakers are magnetically shielded to protect the monitor, so regular speakers cannot be used, unless you would like to repair/replace your monitor frequently.

The modem is what is used to call up a remote location via a telephone line, for example, your internet access.

The Network Interface Card (NIC) is what is used to connect to other computers in a Local Area Network (LAN).

The monitor is the screen that you view everything on, the bigger the better I would say.

The Printer is obviously what is used to print stuff that you see on your monitor to paper.

The Scanner is the device used to capture an picture to a file on your computer.

The keyboard is self explainatory, it puts the letters/numbers on the screen of a computer.

The mouse would be self-explainatory too, it moves around the cursor on the screen.

The Operating System is the program that runs everything on your computer, even the other programs.
